Genset Extension in India 07/15/2004 The suppliers of diesel generator sets have been given extension to comply with the noise and emission limits, as stipulated under the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986. In a Notification issued by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, the suppliers of genset diesel engines, having capacity of up to 19 KW, will now be required to implement the emission limits by July 01, 2005, whereas the suppliers of genset diesel engines, having a capacity of more than 176 KW up to 800 KW will have to comply with the emission limits by November 01, 2004.
